I think the hype is real. Apparently this is where Fettuccine Alfredo was born! We (of course) ordered it, the tagliatelle bolognese, and the beef meatballs.
The fettuccine involves no cream...instead it is mixed with huge heaps of butter and parmesan cheese. Absolutely delicious but don't look at your plate afterwards to see all that congealed butter. The bolognese was perfect- the sauce clung to the pasta which was cooked al dente. The meatballs were in a white wine & lemon sauce - great addition to our meal.
We went during lunch time which didn't seem very busy! Staff were attentive and nice. -

Fabulous. This is my announcement to put this place on your bucket list. Service and food were what you dream of when you think of food.
The Alfredo made at the table was velvety and perfect. The tender, fresh pasta melts in your mouth. Get it in the belly. -

This place is touristy but great. Their parmesan fettuccine are outstanding. Service is very professional. I would definitely go back there anytime. Everything was great. Except maybe the sea food but they kind of give you warning about that on the menu (it might be frozen)

Unfortunate that a few people had bad experiences here because we had a near flawless experience. So glad we went with the "when in Rome" mantra and ordered the fettuccine Alfredo- it's really silly if you don't. It's different than the stuff of the same name in the States, so much lighter and very enjoyable. Great salad and the Jewish artichokes are a newfound love here in Rome. The waiter did ask if we wanted to add a tip on the credit card charge--even though we all know that's an American thing, not European. And meanwhile Americans tend to get screwed by that when Europeans dine stateside. I was certainly on the receiving end of that numerous times. Glad we happened in here. I'd absolutely recommend it to others.
